Ruthie is 6 MONTHS!!

Photographing the Fernandez family is always such a joy. Our recent UT Gardens 6 month session with baby Ruthie was no exception. I’ve had the privilege of capturing Mikia and Wes’s biggest milestones—from their engagement and wedding to welcoming their two beautiful daughters, Sonnie and Ruthie. It’s been such an honor to walk alongside their growing family over the years.

This time, we met at one of my favorite Knoxville photo spots, UT Gardens, to celebrate Ruthie’s 6 month milestone. The gardens were bursting with spring color, the soft evening light was just right, and the girls were as sweet as ever. Ruthie has grown so much since her newborn session. Her big brown eyes, chubby cheeks, and gummy smiles just melted my heart!

While the primary goal of our session was to capture Ruthie at this fun and expressive stage, we also wanted a few precious images of her and big sister Sonnie together. That’s no small feat when you’re working with a 6 month old and a 3 year old! But let me tell you, we got the shot! A sweet frame where both girls are smiling and looking at the camera. It may seem like a small thing, but that kind of magic takes patience, creativity, and a whole lot of silly noises behind the lens!

Watching Sonnie love on her baby sister is the sweetest thing. There’s no doubt in my mind that she adores Ruthie with her entire heart. These two girls are going to grow up with the most beautiful bond.

I’m so grateful to Mikia and Wes for trusting me with their memories time and time again. Their UT Gardens 6 month session is one I’ll be smiling about for a long time.
