There’s just something magical about springtime in East Tennessee. Especially when you’re photographing a couple as sweet and in love as Virginia and Nathan. Their spring UT Gardens engagement session was one of those afternoons where everything aligned: perfect golden light, blooming redbuds, and a couple whose joy is simply contagious.
Virginia and Nathan’s story begins at Sewanee where they first met. After college, they spent a few years in Kentucky before moving to Florida to be closer to Virginia’s family. But this past year, they found their way to Knoxville—Nathan’s hometown—and are loving this new chapter together. It’s always special when a couple chooses a meaningful location for their session. UT Gardens was the perfect place to celebrate both their new home and the season of blooming beginnings.
Their wedding is set for April 25, 2026, at the always-stunning Ramble Creek, and if their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be a beautiful and joy-filled day. It was such a pleasure getting to know them better during our time together. They have the kind of love that’s easy to photograph. It’s gentle, fun, and genuine.
As we walked through the gardens, we took full advantage of the spring color show. The redbuds were in peak bloom, and soft pinks, purples, and greens framed their photos with such vibrant, natural beauty. From tucked-away garden paths to wide-open grassy spaces, UT Gardens gave us endless backdrops to work with.
Virginia and Nathan, thank you for trusting me with these memories! I cannot wait to see you again next April as you say “I do” at Ramble Creek.
If you’re newly engaged and looking for a spot that truly shines in the spring, UT Gardens is a dream come true!
