It was sitting on it’s pedestal that was the old fax machine in the back of my dad’s office. I swear there was a light from heaven shining on it and as I got closer, I’m pretty certain I could hear a choir singing. It was a 35mm Minolta film camera. I must have been pretty persuasive, because I somehow convinced my dad to let that be my first camera at just twelve years old. There’s no way he could have known but in that moment he reset the trajectory of my life. That evening I took pictures of the children at our Sunday night church gathering. I developed those photos and gifted them to the parents. I remember so vividly the expression on their faces as they pulled the frames out of the bags. They loved seeing this snapshot of their sweet babe playing on the playground.
Candid portrait photography had not yet come into existence and the stiff photos from the JCPenney studio just didn’t invoke the same emotion. This moment and their reaction is what pulled my heart into photography. I declared myself a professional in 2010 during my senior year of college. I was graduating with a bachelors in accounting and in a strange turn of events, ended up becoming a CPA amidst growing my little business into a full time career. As curvy and bumpy as my journey has been, I believe that every single alternative route God has put me on has been purposeful. I believe that I am fulfilling the calling that He has on my life and am just so grateful to get to serve each and every one of my clients.

I want my brand to be authentic. I want my client’s experience to be joyful. I want every image to show the love sweeping through the moment.
Being a three on the enneagram, I am constantly setting goals and working to achieve them. When I reach the goal, I barely celebrate before I set a new goal and start working to reach it. This is the way that I’m wired and while it comes in handy in some ways, it can also cause me to miss the current moment I’m living in right now. But the current moment is real. It’s where life is happening. It’s where you are with the people you love and enjoying their essence.
The right now will slip through your fingers in the blink of an eye, especially on your wedding day, and that’s where I come in. One click of my shutter and you have that moment to relive for the rest of your life. One snap and your story is there to share forever. Your wedding is made up of thousands of tiny moments, hundreds of tiny decisions, and one ultimate commitment to the greatest love of your life. There’s not a single piece of that day that should be left undocumented. You can trust me. You can trust my team. We are here for you and we want to help you relive your love story for decades to come.
Giving back locally and globally is so important to me. There are three nonprofits that I am passionate about. When you support AMP, you’re not only supporting my family, but also the local community here in Knoxville, and even globally in Africa. When I think about the legacy of my business, generous is among the top attributes I want it to be remembered for.
