So. Much. To. Say. About. This. Wedding. First of all, it was not in my normal city. Obviously. You can scour my blog and find I’ve never actually shot a wedding in Michigan. Erin was a bridesmaid in her brother’s wedding a few years ago and decided then she wanted me as her wedding photographer when it was her turn to get married. She didn’t have to wait too long for Justin to propose, and just a short couple years later, I got the email! She started it off with, “I know you’re a Tennessee wedding photographer, but would you ever consider coming to Michigan for a wedding at The Inn at St. John’s?” My immediate response was, “For you??? YES! Of course I would.” I love this family so much. They are pure gold, and it was an honor to work with them again!
It was originally scheduled in October 2020, but it had to be postponed so they chose June of 2021. Thank the heavens above the restrictions completely let up just a couple weeks before the wedding, and they got their dream room at The Inn at St. John’s without having to cut their guest list down or wear masks!
The Inn at St. John’s is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a hotel that is also part of a cathedral, but what the name doesn’t elude to is that it’s also a fancy shmancy golf course, delicious restaurant, and houses a gorgeous reception venue called The Atrium. When I pulled up and saw all the arches and brick and beautiful landscaping, I immediately understood why Erin and Justin kept their wedding in Michigan even though they and most of their family live in Knoxville. There is nothing like this in Knoxville. It was stunning, my friends.
I’m absolutely thrilled to share this highlight with you and can’t wait to get the rest of their gallery to them!
