A Mead’s Quarry and UT Engagement Session

Spring and Sterling’s engagement session last week was perfect. They happened to be in town for another wedding, I happened to have a day available, and we met up at Mead’s Quarry for their first location. I go through trends of shooting places. When I shoot somewhere, all of a sudden, I’ll be back there a dozen times that season. When I haven’t shot somewhere in awhile, I tend to not get clients wanting it. It’s very much a shoot what you share type of scenario, and I hadn’t been back to Mead’s Quarry in forever when I used to shoot there about every week. So, I was excited when Spring and Sterling mentioned wanting to go there for the first half of their engagement session.

My most favorite part of Mead’s Quarry is all the neutral, earthy tones. Even the greens aren’t super neon and dramatic. It meshed well with Spring and Sterling’s first outfits. They were total champs when I asked them to sit in the tall grass, get into the water, and then, put their shoes back on for a couple more shots before we changed and headed to The University of Tennessee campus.

Speaking of campus, they met in the engineering building and ended up going to Chicago together to put their degrees to work. We got there, and they took me to all their favorites spots. One gorgeous view of the Sunsphere, the bridge they used to walk across to get to class every day, and even the little picnic area where they hung out a lot. It was sweet reminiscing their UT days with them as we strolled past the groundhog who lives in the tree stump still and stood on the bridge made out of engineering materials UT students developed.

I really feel like I got to know Spring and Sterling so well at their engagement session, and I’m super excited for their wedding next year. They are getting married at the GORGEOUS new venue in the Smokies called The Trillium. I already have three weddings there as of now, and I’m suuuuper stoked.

Anyway, you can feel the love between these two. Now, get to scrolling 😉!
