Lauren & Harrison’s summer Press Room wedding was one of those days that felt effortless from start to finish. That kind of smoothness doesn’t just happen by accident. It’s the result of hiring an incredible team and having everything in one place. From the moment the day began, Bangs & Blush had hair and makeup flowing perfectly on schedule (as they always do), City Catering kept everyone well-fed with delicious meals, and the wedding party was nothing short of phenomenal. Add in endless mimosas, gorgeous florals, and a joyful couple, and the recipe for a seamless wedding day was complete.
One of the things Lauren told me before her wedding was she didn’t want her photos to feel overly industrial. Since The Press Room ceremony space has exposed brick walls, she wanted variety in her gallery. Specifically more greenery for portraits. That became my biggest challenge of the day, but also one of my favorite parts. Thankfully, Lauren and Harrison were all in for a little bit of a walk. We made the trek over to the church steps next door and were able to capture portraits filled with lush greens.
I’ll admit, I held my breath when I saw that the massive tree that once shaded the church steps was gone. Without it, the sunlight would have been harsh and difficult to work with. But right as we began their first look and later during wedding party portraits, the Lord provided a massive cloud that softened everything perfectly. I realize every wedding blog post talks at least once about the Lord providing some kind of weather miracle, but I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried. I am just so grateful that He continues to provide every single Saturday.
That’s what I love about weddings: no matter how much planning goes into the day, there are always little surprises that make it even better. For Lauren and Harrison, their summer Press Room wedding was filled with joy, beauty, and God’s provision every step of the way.
