Emily and Zach’s Marblegate Farm fall wedding was one of those days that felt so effortless to me. I first met them almost exactly one year before their wedding at their engagement session. Also at Marblegate Farm, and also in the fall. It was the perfect preview of what was to come! During that session, we explored some tucked-away corners of the property we wouldn’t be able to access on the wedding day itself, which ended up being such a fun way to experience Marblegate from every angle.
When the big day arrived, Emily and Zach made the decision not to do a first look. That meant we had to move fast after the ceremony to get family photos, wedding party shots, and portraits of the two of them all within the cocktail hour window. In the fall, when the sun sets just a bit earlier, that time crunch is real, but these two were total pros. We stayed close to the reception hall so we could maximize every minute, and honestly, the photos turned out incredible. Even without a first look, we captured some truly epic moments I absolutely love.
While first looks can make the logistics of a wedding day easier, I completely understand when couples want to keep that traditional moment of seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony. It’s such a personal decision, and I’m always fully supportive of whatever feels most authentic to my couples.
Once the formal photos wrapped up and the reception began, Emily and Zach absolutely brought the energy. The dance floor was packed all night, and they led the charge with some of the best moves I’ve seen all season. Some of my favorite candid shots from the entire day came from that dance floor.
It was such a perfect fall celebration at Marblegate Farm and one that I’ll remember so fondly. Emily and Zach, thank you for trusting me to capture your day so beautifully!
