A Fall Castleton Wedding
Connor and Kyle’s Castleton Farms destination wedding was one for the books. Not just because of how beautiful it was, but because of how deeply it was anticipated. This was a destination wedding for everyone involved. The couple drove all the way from south Florida, and their families and friends came in from all over. Western Tennessee, other parts of Florida, and even beyond. After two full years of planning, the day finally arrived, and I think everyone (especially Connor and Kyle) could hardly believe it was actually happening.
And the best part? The one thing you can’t plan for — the weather — turned out absolutely perfect. East Tennessee in the fall truly showed off for them. The morning started cool and crisp, the afternoon warmed up beautifully, and a soft layer of clouds covered the sun just enough during the ceremony to keep everyone comfortable and squint-free. It felt like the kind of day you dream about when you start planning a fall wedding.
Beyond the perfect weather, one of my favorite details from their day was their guestbook. Instead of a traditional book or print, they had seven wine bottles labeled with the anniversaries they’ll celebrate: 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years. Guests signed each bottle with metallic Sharpies, leaving messages and well wishes for the couple to read when they open that bottle on the corresponding anniversary.
It’s such a sweet and sentimental idea. A way to carry their wedding day forward through the years, bottle by bottle. I can just picture those bottles sitting on a shelf or mantel, waiting for each milestone celebration.
