There are certain sessions that just mean a little extra to me, and this Choto family session is absolutely one of them. Beth isn’t just any client. She’s been an essential part of the AMP team for eight years now. She’s truly the captain that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. There are so many parts of this business I couldn’t even begin to handle without her. Honestly, there are tasks she’s mastered so completely that I don’t even know how to do them anymore! She’s that dependable, that talented, and that trustworthy. People like Beth are so rare, and I’ll never stop being grateful she’s in my life and in this business.

Every year, I get the joy of photographing her beautiful family, and it always feels like such a gift to me. This year, we decided to do their session right at home in the Choto area of Knoxville. They moved into this house a couple of years ago and have been slowly making it their own. We’d talked for months about doing photos there, but there was always one more project to finish before it felt “ready.” But for this particular session, we decided that their home made the most beautiful backdrop despite some projects not being totally finished, and honestly, I think it turned out AMAZING!

Their front yard has the most magical light that streaks across in the evenings, and it made the perfect backdrop for a session full of laughter, hugs, and a whole lot of heart. There’s something so special about capturing a family in the place they live life every day. The yard they play in, the porch they gather on, the space that holds all their everyday memories.

Oh my goodness, these kiddos have my whole heart. They’re sweet, full of personality, and give the best hugs. Having updated family photos every year is so necessary. It’s not about just having pretty photos, it’s about freezing time for the people who mean the most.
