Lifestyle Session in Their Home
One of my greatest joys as a photographer is walking alongside families year after year. I love documenting their growth, milestones, and all of the in-between moments that make life so rich. The Cain family is one of those special families I’ve had the privilege of photographing many times. Every session with them gets better and better!
This Lifestyle Family Session was especially meaningful. Little Barrett has grown into the sweetest big brother, and now baby Anniston has turned one! Despite the health journey she has already faced in her first year, she radiates joy. Her smiles, cuddles, and easy-going personality are contagious, and watching Barrett love on her melted my heart.
What makes photographing the Cains so wonderful is their love for candid, authentic moments. Instead of perfectly posed, everyone-looking-at-the-camera photos, they embrace the beauty of playful giggles, snuggles on the couch, and those fleeting everyday connections that truly reflect family life. Sessions like this let toddlers be themselves, and I’m all for it!
One of my favorite moments was when I asked Barrett to grab a book to read to his little sister. He returned with his baby book—filled with photos of himself from newborn days onward—and curled up in his dad’s lap to “read” it. It wasn’t exactly a storybook, but it was such a sweet, sentimental reminder of why capturing these milestones matters so much.
As if my heart wasn’t full enough, when we moved downstairs, I noticed an entire wall covered in framed photographs I’ve taken for the Cains over the years. Seeing my work displayed in their home was the greatest honor—it’s proof that these memories don’t just live on hard drives, but on walls where they’re seen and cherished every single day.
The Cain family continues to inspire me with their love, resilience, and joy. Photographing them is always such an honor, and this Lifestyle Family Session is one I’ll never forget.
