A Stunning Cherokee Country Club Spring Wedding With the Best Family

A Cherokee Country Club spring wedding always carries a timeless elegance. Savannah and Ryan’s day felt even more meaningful because of the people who surrounded them though. I’ve known Savannah’s family for years now, and over that time, I’ve had the honor of photographing more than five weddings connected to them. With each one, I’ve gotten to know them better, and I can confidently say they are some of the kindest, most welcoming people you will ever meet. They have this incredible way of pulling everyone in and making you feel like you belong. By the end of the first wedding I photographed with them, that feeling couldn’t have been more true.

They had a beautiful noon ceremony at St. John Newman Catholic Church, which meant we started bright and early. Catholic wedding days always come with a unique rhythm, and this one was no exception. After the ceremony, we moved straight into what can only be described as a full-on marathon of portraits before joining cocktail hour at Cherokee Country Club. Right before we left the church, we tackled one of the biggest extended family photos I’ve ever done. Easily 50 people! We couldn’t use the front steps at St. John Neumann because the lighting was not it. So, we made it happen where the lighting was better and in a way that allowed every single face to be seen clearly, no elevation required (which still feels like a small miracle).

Throughout the entire day, Savannah and Ryan handled every moving piece with so much grace. Even as I pulled them away for photos, they never once made me feel like it was an inconvenience. Instead, they were genuinely grateful, laughing through my prompts and trusting the process fully. That kind of energy always translates into the most beautiful, natural images.

One of my favorite parts of the day was getting to spend time with Savannah’s bridesmaids. This group of women showed up in the most selfless way. With several pregnant and others with newborns at home, they still gave Savannah their full attention and support. One bridesmaid was just a week away from her due date, and you never would have known it. Not a single complaint, just pure joy for her friend. That says everything about the kind of person Savannah is and the friendships she’s built.

At one point during the evening, Savannah and I were talking about her family, and I joked that I basically felt like part of it at this point. She smiled and said, “Well, you are.” And honestly, that perfectly sums up this entire day. This family loves deeply, celebrates fully, and makes everyone around them feel seen and valued.

Savannah and Ryan, I am so incredibly grateful you chose me to be part of your Cherokee Country Club spring wedding. It was a day I’ll never forget, filled with so much love, laughter, and genuine connection.
