A Yacht Adventure Engagement Session for the Future Mr. & Mrs. Brig
I always say that engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of the wedding photography experience. After spending the evening with Andi & Ray, that sentiment couldn’t ring more true. These two are the kind of people who instantly make you feel like a friend, and their session was the perfect mix of laughter, beauty, and a whole lot of personality.
Andi is a labor and delivery nurse, and Ray is a boat broker. They both absolutely love being on the lake. In fact, their shared love of boats runs so deep that when we chatted the night before their session, Andi said she wanted to end their session on the water. But we hadn’t quite pinned down the first location yet. After a little back and forth, we decided on Lakeshore Park—and I’m so thankful we did. I forget how beautiful and versatile that park is, and it served as the perfect soft, natural contrast to the sleek adventure to come.
After wrapping up at Lakeshore, I followed Andi & Ray to their dock. I was expecting a little runabout boat for our final photos, but when I saw them step onto a yacht that Ray sometimes charters, I’m pretty sure my jaw hit the dock. This wasn’t just any boat—this was a yacht, and Ray handled it like a pro. Watching him navigate that beast out of a narrow cove and glide us onto open water was genuinely impressive. As someone who knows the struggle of launching and trailering a small ski boat, I was in awe.
On the ride, I got to learn more about them both. Ray’s boat knowledge is next level, but what stood out most about Andi was her calm and detailed mind—especially as she shared her thought process for handling emergencies. She’s clearly meant to be a nurse. Any expecting mama would be lucky to have her by their side.
Their wedding at The Press Room in May of 2026 is going to be incredible. I already know it. Andi & Ray, thank you for such a fun and unforgettable evening. I cannot wait to celebrate your love story next spring!
