A Sunny Maple Grove Maternity Session for TWINS!

There’s something incredibly special about documenting a family’s journey from the very beginning. The Armstrongs are the perfect example of why I treasure this work so much. Katie and Lucas got married in June of 2021, but our story together began long before that with their engagement session in 2020. Since then, they’ve invited me into nearly every milestone of their growing family. And what a beautiful journey it has been.

We celebrated their next big chapter with a Maple Grove maternity session as they prepare to welcome twin boys, Hayes and Hudson. Their daughter, Landry, who is almost 2, also joined us for the session. She’s full of life and curiosity, which made the entire evening even sweeter. Watching her toddle through the gardens and hold her mama’s hand reminded me just how quickly these moments pass.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of photographing Katie and Lucas for their first anniversary, their maternity photos when Katie was pregnant with Landry, and every three-month milestone of Landry’s first year. They’ve made the long drive to Knoxville time and time again without complaining. Even bringing along one (or both!) of their amazing moms. Their commitment to capturing these seasons of life brings me so much joy!

Katie has even served on the AMP team off and on over the years, and she’s currently helping behind the scenes—while pregnant with twins and chasing a toddler! Her heart for people and joyful spirit shine in everything she does. Watching Katie and Lucas parent Landry with such tenderness, and now prepare for twin boys, has been one of the sweetest things over our time together.

Maple Grove Estate, as always, was the perfect backdrop. Even in the midst of one of the hottest, driest stretches of the year, the landscaping was pristine. I never stop being amazed by its beauty, and the Armstrongs made it all the more magical.

This Maple Grove Maternity session wasn’t just another session. It was a reunion with dear friends, a celebration of two new lives, and another page in a story I feel so honored to tell.
