From the minute you have children, the thought about what their future holds in a spouse crosses your mind. Will they marry a high school sweetheart? Will they have a Hallmark moment where they fall in love at first sight? Will they be set up on a blind date that works out or will it be someone they grew up knowing all along? However it happens, the thing that is most important is the character of the other person. Their beliefs, their morals, the way they treat others. Every parent has a list of standards they desire in their future daughter/son-in-law, and those traits are usually prayed for from the very beginning. Sometimes, it works out perfectly, and sometimes, it doesn’t. In this case, I think Kaylyn’s parents got EXACTLY who they prayed for for Kaylyn. During Kaylyn’s first look with her dad, they shared an emotional moment where her dad said, “I love you so much, but it’s still going to be hard to give you away today. You know what makes it easier? I really love Nick, too.” That rocked me. To be able to say you love the person your daughter is marrying that much is incredible. I hope and pray that one day I will share that same mentality with the spouses my children choose to marry. What an amazing blessing that is!!
Now, totally switching gears. I also want to mention Kaylyn and Nick’s grand entrance because it was quite possibly the coolest grand entrance I’ve seen! When it was time to introduce them into the reception, they had the wedding party come in The Venue Chattanooga and line up shoulder to shoulder facing the guests. Then, Kaylyn and Nick came in and stood right in the middle of the wedding party semicircle. Everyone put their arms around each others shoulders, and they swayed back and forth to a really great song while everyone watched. They ended by jumping into a big huddle with Kaylyn and Nick in the middle and celebrated. The crowd went WILD. It was such an awesome entrance and so easy!! If you want a hype way to start your reception, this was definitely it!
