I have photographed weddings since 2010. I quit my accounting job in 2015 to pursue photography as my sole career, and over all these years, I have accumulated close to 500 weddings. While all weddings are different, there is a general theme a lot run by, and that theme has morphed over time. Excluding the micro weddings and elopements, there are only a handful of weddings I’ve done over the years that have had a different kind of day. A day like what Caitlin and James had at their Southern Railway Station wedding. Instead of having a late afternoon/evening ceremony time, they did an 11:00am ceremony. While that may have meant an earlier morning for us, it also meant an earlier evening. This was perfect for James and Caitlin because they didn’t really want the partying dance floor vibe at their reception. Instead of having the lights cut and the music up louder after dinner, they invited their guests to play games and socialize. It was such a different atmosphere but just as amazing as any other end to any other wedding day because it was them. James said it best when he said, “We’re just not dancing people so why would we have a big dance floor?” I love that. Make your day yours. Not dancing people? Games worked really great as well!
I’m so thankful Caitlin and James had me as part of their wedding day! I enjoyed getting to know them more during their engagement season and am so excited to share the highlights from their day! Their Southern Railway Station wedding was absolutely beautiful!
