Alexandra and Tanner had a September wedding at Hunter Valley Farm, and it was one for the books. They had all the weather types on their day. It started off rainy. Most of the portraits you see in the first half of the day were shot inside or on a covered porch. When I was shooting in front of the window with all of the condensation on it, everyone was looking at me like I was crazy. Why there? That can’t look great. Alexandra’s dad even mentioned I may be planning on photoshopping in a clear window behind them. Then, they saw the sneak peek with the condensation behind them, and they loved it! During the whole reception, I kept hearing people say, “You’ve got to look at the one in front of the window! It looks like there’s a waterfall behind her.” It made me so happy to see how much they loved it.
This day was so full of the kindest most genuine compliments to me and my work. I can’t even describe to you how it was a continual outpouring of love throughout the whole day from people who are unrelated to one another and I had never met before. It started during the morning when I showed up to Alexandra’s house and was welcomed by three of her bridesmaids that are also AMP brides who got married over the last 2 years. I love these girls so much, and you’ll see in the reception photos a shot that I got with them. They are amazing and truly have the kindest of all souls. They have been my biggest cheerleaders ever since I shot the first wedding of the crew at Castleton back in 2020. I could not thank them enough for all of their support!!
Then, when I met Alexandra’s dad for the first time at the venue, he started out the conversation about how impressed he was with how I run my business. Honestly, when I get compliments from dads, it is extra special because we all know guys typically HATE the photos and in turn aren’t super fond of me. He was so extremely kind and had me blushing with all of his sincerity.
Later in the evening, the crew with the venue came up to me and started telling me how much they love my work and working with me and were being so so so nice again. They went out of their way to share this and made me feel so special.
At one point during open dance floor, the videographer came up to me and said, “there’s just something different about your photos. I can’t explain it. They are just so powerful and real.” I swear I almost started crying.
This is not normal, you guys. I never get this much doting at a wedding. Normally I get no doting at the wedding itself, it’s more normal at the preview party after the wedding. And I never ever ever expect it and always greatly appreciate it!
But I say all of this because that is the type of people that Alexandra and Tanner surround themselves with. Really great, heartfelt, sincere, genuine people that know how to make others feel like a rockstar and like their absolute best. I can’t thank them enough for having me as part of their beautiful ceremony and killer dance party. Just wait until you see the dance photos. This September wedding kicked off all of my fall weddings, and I am STOKED for this busy season!
