For this Maple Grove Estate wedding, it’s less about trying to figure out what to say and more about me trying to narrow down what I want to say because oh. my. goodness. It was amazing! It’s been a looooong time since I’ve done an open air reception. I love them. Just guests under the twinkling cafe lights able to look up and see the stars and dancing the night away together. This day was beautiful. Emotional. Full of love. Joyful. Sweet. Sentimental. All the things.
This was my first wedding at Maple Grove Estate, and I’m already dying to go back. I forgot my styling board when I left so I went back on Tuesday to pick it up. I ran into Karen, the owner, while I was fetching it and was just gushing about how much I loved shooting there. Honestly, I loved every single piece of it. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful. All the portrait locations were a fav. I didn’t even take the couple inside, but I could have because even the inside is ultra photogenic. The Shankleses bought this beautiful estate a couple years ago and revived it, and let me tell you, they did a stellar job. I can’t get enough, and whoever wants to hire me for their Maple Grove Estate wedding, I’m totally down.
Meg and Andy are precious. One thing that really stood out to me at their wedding was their ceremony. As we prepped for the ceremony, I noticed a couple Lauren Daigle songs come on. Then, I noticed that all the songs were by Christian music artists. Their entire ceremony playlist was filled with songs about Jesus. I loved this so much because of the way it brought even more evidence that this ceremony was a dedication to each other in front of God. A commitment and a promise to Jesus as well as one another that they were devoting their lives to each other for the rest of their days. It was sweet and holy and precious. As guests arrived and waited for the ceremony to begin, their ears were filled with worship songs. It set the stage for everyone’s attention to be focused on the right detail as Meg and Andy entered into a lifelong marriage together. It was beautiful.
There are so many other things I loved about this wedding, too. To summarize, I LOVED the florals they chose. The vibrant colors and rich tones. I loved the classic, simplicity of Meg’s dress. The way Andy carried around a mini pack of beef jerky and snacked throughout our portraits. I loved the way their ceremony chairs were set up and the light that came in behind the arbor they had decorated. The size and intimacy of their bridal party. I loved the way that both parents were just beaming all day long with pride and honor for their children joining as one. I could keep going because the day was so full of so much goodness. Instead of making you read more words, I want the images to speak for themselves. I am so proud of this wedding as a group of work in my portfolio. It was beautiful, and I genuinely love so many of these images.
