Senior Session in Downtown Knoxville inside the Marriott Hotel at Maker Exchange

Meghan Wills’s Maker Exchange senior session inside the Marriott Hotel was so much fun! From the moment Meghan arrived, I knew this session was going to be special. I didn’t yet realize just how much personality, joy, and heart would come pouring out during our time together though.

Meghan is graduating as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (an incredible accomplishment!), and it was so important to her that her senior session truly reflected who she is and what she’s passionate about. Maker Exchange was the perfect location for this session. The space gave us such a clean, elevated backdrop while still allowing her personality to shine through. Plus, we didn’t totally freeze in the 30 degree temps outside.

Since Meghan specializes in working with neuro patients, she brought a bag full of tools she’s uses daily. Watching her pull each item out was such a fun part of this Maker Exchange senior session. First came her stethoscope. Then, her reflex tool, which I lovingly (and very incorrectly) referred to as a “knee knocker” 😂. Last, was her head measurer. With every tool, her excitement grew as she explained what each one does and why it matters.

And then, she pulled out the star of the show: a tiny stuffed brain.

The second Meghan brought it out, her face lit up. She smiled so big and immediately gushed about how obsessed she is with it. She even declared it her absolute favorite item in the bag. The photos of her holding it, kissing it, and even tossing it in the air are some of my favorites from the entire session. So, when you see those images and wonder, “Is that really a little stuffed brain?” The answer is yes. And yes, it was 100% her favorite.

What truly stood out most was Meghan’s passion for physical therapy. The way she spoke about her work, her patients, and the tools she uses every day made it so clear that this career is more than a job, it’s a calling. I’ve never seen Meghan in action with her patients, but I don’t need to. When someone is this passionate about what they do, it’s obvious they’re exceptional at it.

Meghan, congratulations on earning your DPT and stepping into such an impactful career. Your future patients are so lucky, and I’m so honored I got to capture this season of your life during your Maker Exchange senior session.
