Emma and Thomas’s Knoxville Museum of Art wedding was marked by intentional details, timeless beauty, and so much genuine joy. From the very beginning, their wedding felt calm, meaningful, and deeply personal. It was the kind of day that unfolds naturally and beautifully without ever feeling rushed. Every part of their celebration, from their thoughtfully chosen locations to the quiet, emotional moments in between, reflected who they are as a couple and the love they share.
We began the morning at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, where Emma got ready surrounded by her closest girls. Her hair and makeup team, Bangs and Blush, truly knocked it out of the park (as they always do). I can confidently say their work holds up flawlessly from the first look all the way through the final dance. After Emma was finished getting ready, we snuck in the sweetest little photos with her dog, Honey. Let me tell you, he absolutely stole the show. The joy on Emma’s face holding him was pure magic.
Emma’s wedding dress was a masterpiece in every sense. It consisted of four stunning elements: a base layer dress, a delicate lace overlay top, a full wrap skirt that sat beautifully on her hips, and an epic veil that tied it all together. One of my favorite moments of the entire day was watching Emma walk down the aisle with her blusher. It’s such a timeless, traditional detail that you don’t see often anymore, and it was breathtaking. There is something incredibly soft and romantic about seeing a bride through a veil, and it added such an elevated, bridal feel to both the moment and the photographs.
After their first look, we headed over for portraits at the Knoxville Museum of Art Wedding venue, and wow, this space exceeded every expectation. It had been years since I last photographed a wedding there, and I truly forgot how stunning it is. The clean lines, modern architecture, and bright, open spaces make it an absolute dream. We were even able to use one of the art rooms for portraits, along with the lawn outside, which gave us such a beautiful variety.
Following the ceremony back at the church, we ended portrait time with the most incredible sunset. Leading up to the day, there was an 80% chance of rain. Once again, the Lord cleared the skies and gave us the most perfect January weather imaginable. Truly, it couldn’t have been more beautiful if Emma had ordered it herself.
This KMA Wedding was precious from start to finish. Undoubtedly, Emma and Thomas, along with their family, were some of the kindest people, and it was such an honor to be part of their day. I cannot wait to see where the Lord takes them next.
