A Sweet Season of Growing for the Mattison Family

There are some families you meet once and instantly hope you get to photograph again someday. The Mattisons are absolutely one of those families. This Holmstead family session with Rebecca, Adam, and soon-to-be big brother Wesley was such a joyful reminder of why I love documenting families in these beautiful milestone seasons.

When I first met this sweet family, Wesley was just weeks old. We photographed that first session at Highlight Studio, and even then, he had the biggest personality. I remember watching those tiny eyes dart all around the room, taking in every shadow, light beam, and sound. He was observant, alert, and already so curious about the world.

Fast forward to this session at The Holmstead, and that curiosity has only grown. Wesley is now a full toddler with legs that do not quit. I joked with Adam that choosing an indoor location again was truly the best idea. If Wesley didn’t have four walls to contain him, he would be gone in seconds. Then, Adam would be clocking miles chasing him down! His adventurous spirit kept us all laughing, and the images are filled with that fun, free-spirited energy only a toddler can bring.

Rebecca looked absolutely radiant with that unmistakable pregnancy glow. There’s something so special about photographing a mama who is soaking in the last moments as a family of three while excitedly anticipating the shift to a family of four. And Adam had the proud dad vibe going strong. Together, they’re the kind of family who smiles with their whole face, the kind whose joy is completely contagious.

This Holmstead family session was such a beautiful celebration of who they are right now. Happy, growing, and filled with so much love. I feel incredibly honored to document these milestones for them and cannot wait to meet the newest little Mattison very soon.
