Flawless Johnson City Country Club Wedding

Liz and Drew’s Johnson City Country Club wedding was seriously one of the most incredible days. Set against the rolling greens and lush landscape of the country club, every detail came together perfectly. From the weather to the timeline, and everything in between.

I arrived in Johnson City the night before their big day because I started a little earlier than normal on the wedding day. Instead of starting my day photographing the bride’s details, I headed straight to the country club where Drew and his groomsmen were mid-round on the golf course. I thought I’d have to track them down, but by some miracle, they were at hole 9—right by the parking lot. Nitro cold brew in hand, I strolled over and started photographing them putting. Somehow, everyone had their best golf swings when the camera came up.

After golf, I joined Liz and her bridesmaids, who were getting ready with an incredible hair and makeup team. They were jamming to music, laughing, and just enjoying every moment. The energy was so joyful, it set the tone for the whole day.

There were a lot of moving parts: bouncing between the hotel, the country club, the church, and back again. But thanks to Liz and her amazing planner Kelli, every single piece fell into place like magic. Timing is everything on wedding days, and this one ran like clockwork.

And let’s talk about the weather. It was a photographer’s dream. Cloudy skies, no wind, and perfectly mild temperatures. But the real showstopper came at sunset. After the ceremony, we returned to the country club, and as we drove up the hill, the clouds broke just in time to reveal the most stunning sunset. I sprinted inside to ask Liz and Drew if they’d be up for quick portraits before dinner, and even though they had just sat down for their private meal, they said yes.

Five minutes. That’s all we needed. The light was unreal, and those sunset portraits are some of my favorite images from the entire day.

Liz and Drew, thank you for trusting me and for giving me that moment. Your Johnson City Country Club wedding was an absolute dream, and I’ll never forget it.
