Fall Magnolia Wedding || Jess & Story

A Cloudy Wedding day at The Magnolia in the Smoky Mountain National Park

There are some wedding days that you just never forget, and Jess & Story’s Fall Magnolia wedding is absolutely one of them. From the sentimental gifts they exchanged to the unexpected moments that made their day uniquely theirs, every single detail felt so personal, intentional, and full of love.

Let’s start with the gifts. Without knowing it, they both decided to give each other watches, which is already adorable, but that wasn’t all. Jess also gave Story a sweet cartoon illustration of the two of them with their three animals at the bottom, while Story gave Jess a box of SweetTarts he had carefully customized. He literally opened the box, took out all the colors she doesn’t like, sealed it back up, and marked X’s over those colors on the front with a Sharpie. I mean, come on. That’s peak thoughtfulness right there.

Another moment that stood out was Story’s jacket. Inside, stitched into the lining, was the timeline of their relationship. He didn’t show Jess until after the ceremony, during their sunset portraits, and her reaction was absolutely priceless. You’ll spot it below when you see her looking at the inside of his jacket with her jaw dropped open!

They also included their sweet pup, Butters, in the day, which made it even better. Instead of relying on a friend or family member to help, they hired Waggin Weddings, a professional pet attendant service. They brought Butters to the venue, helped with posing, walked her during downtime, and kept her ready for any photo moment. If you’re a dog parent planning a wedding, this company is a total game-changer!

And of course, I can’t skip over the weather. Even though the forecast called for only a 2% chance of rain, we got these random 15-minute summer-like showers throughout the day. But somehow, the timing was perfect. Every time we needed to be outside, it cleared up. The clouds actually made the mountains look even more stunning — deep, bold, and dramatic — and the trees were in peak fall color. Reds, oranges, yellows. It was like nature showed off just for them.

Jess & Story’s day was a dream from start to finish. I’m so excited to share this incredible Fall Magnolia wedding with you!
