There are wedding days that feel special, and then there are wedding days that feel sacred. Kelsie and Randy Robinson’s wedding at The Trillium in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park was the kind of day that made you pause, breathe deeply, and realize you were witnessing something truly extraordinary. And yes, how fun is it that her new last name is officially Mrs. Robinson?
The fall color at The Trillium was still incredibly vibrant for their November celebration. Rich reds, bright golds, and deep oranges swept across the mountains, creating the most beautiful backdrop for their ceremony. But even with all that beauty, the moments happening between Kelsie and Randy stole the show.
One of my favorite parts of their wedding was how they incorporated their wedding party into three separate unity ceremonies. Instead of standing off to the side, their closest friends and family were part of the covenant itself. The best man held the frame while Kelsie and Randy braided the three strands into a single cord. Her bridesmaids handed them two jars of glass that they poured into one larger vessel, carefully held by the maid of honor. And finally, her dad signed their marriage certificate as the last act of unity. It was such a meaningful, intentional way to include the people they love most.
Right after the ceremony, instead of rushing straight into family portraits, Kelsie and Randy slipped down to the bridal suite for communion. Before they took communion, they prayed together. It was one of the most heartfelt prayers I’ve heard in all my years photographing weddings. I even found myself tearing up behind the camera.
And then…the moon. As they headed to the reception, the most incredible moon rose above the horizon. Paired with the remaining fall color at The Trillium, it felt like God was painting the sky just for them.
To top off an already magical day, their first dance was unforgettable. Truly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Their choreography was impressive on its own, but their execution was flawless. With the fog machine from Young Videography drifting across the floor, it looked like they were dancing in a cloud.
From the heartfelt prayers to the glowing mountains to that unreal first dance, Kelsie and Randy’s wedding day was pure joy—and I’m so honored I got to capture every moment.
