Lauren and Austin’s Dara’s Garden wedding was one of those days I’ll be thinking about for a long, long time. I first met Lauren a couple of years ago when she was the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding. Even then, she stood out to me. So kind, so helpful, and radiating joy that wasn’t just for herself but completely centered on her friend’s happiness. I remember thinking, Wow, she’s a gem. I had no idea that one day I’d have the honor of photographing her as a bride!
When Lauren reached out to me about her own wedding at Dara’s Garden, I remembered her immediately and couldn’t say “YES!” fast enough. From our very first emails, her joy, kindness, and genuine heart came through just as much as I remembered. We started our journey with an engagement session at UT Gardens on what might have been the hottest day of the summer. Though you’d never know it looking at them. Somehow, Lauren and Austin still looked flawless, totally in love, and completely at ease.
Their wedding day was equally as perfect. The weather was somehow the complete opposite of the days leading up to the wedding with gorgeous sunshine, temps in the 60s, and zero humidity. Also, Dara’s Garden looked like something straight out of a fairytale. Lauren’s theme was pastel wildflowers, and the florals by Lisa Foster were breathtaking. My team and I couldn’t stop photographing them.
And Austin—oh, sweet Austin. Throughout the wedding day, I heard stories about how before Lauren, he was shy and introverted, but you would never know it watching him with her now. He is, of course, completely smitten with eyes twinkling all day long. Watching how they bring out the best in each other was undoubtedly one of the sweetest parts of the day.
Being part of their Dara’s Garden wedding felt like being wrapped up in joy, beauty, and kindness. Even though I was there to serve them, they made me feel celebrated. That kind of love and intentionality is especially unforgettable. I know their life together is going to be full of laughter, love, and a whole lot of joy. It will also be surrounded by the people who adore them most.
Dara’s Garden was basically the perfect backdrop for Lauren and Austin’s celebration. It is lush, romantic, and full of charm. Scroll down to see some of my favorite moments from Lauren and Austin’s pastel wildflower day at Dara’s Garden. Trust me, you won’t want to miss these florals!
