A Private Intimate Cabin Wedding in the Mountains

When Annabeth and Blake reached out to me about shooting their wedding in a tiny town called Robinsville, North Carolina, they were very up front with how remote it is. They warned me about there being no cell service and not taking interstate roads to get there. But I’m used to long drives through the country. I honestly didn’t think another thought about it. Leading up to their big day, Annabeth would write thank you upon thank you in her emails for driving all the way out to North Carolina for their little cabin wedding. Still, didn’t think much about it. Then, I started the drive. I knew the whole time that it was about 2.5 hours from me. But I never looked closely at the route. I just assumed 40E…interstate…curvy mountain roads. But oh no. It was not 40E. I was actually only on the interstate for about 10 miles before I got off at Alcoa and set off on the LOOOONG journey of making it on the Blue Ridge Parkway, driving the entire length of The Dragon with little souped up speedy cars on my TAIL the entire time. I listened to my cute little audio book with my windows down and enjoyed the ride. I’ll admit though, I did start laughing at how little attention I gave their warnings. It ALL made sense to me now. Why they were even warning me in the first place. I literally giggled. Lesson learned. Next time, I’ll heed the warning. They know what they’re talking about haha.

All that to say, when I rounded the corner and came across their little cabin wedding, I totally understood. This place is gorgeous. It has an epic view of a mountain and incredible creek front access. The water was trickling, the birds were chirping, and it was the most perfect spot for Annabeth and Blake to officially become husband and wife. I am so honored they asked me to be there. I am so honored I was able to capture such a sweet memory for them. Next time we go out that way, I think I’ll take the long way around 😂.
