Religious Marblegate Farm Wedding || Maddie & Jordan

A Religious Wedding at Marblegate Farm in the Fall

I knew Maddie and Jordan were going to have a religious wedding, but I was not prepared for just how precious it was. During their ceremony at Marblegate Farm, they had two separate officiants. One was from Jordan’s childhood church, and the other was Maddie’s uncle. Both were exceptional. Both shared beautiful messages. While they didn’t know each other, they each had a special connection with the couple, and what is funny is they had such similar things to say about Jordan and Maddie. They talked about how whole heartedly they each serve the Lord. At one point, one of them said, “Marriage is not 50/50. Marriage is 100/100.” I loved that. It’s so true. If you give 100% of your love to your spouse, it’s hard to not return that back. There was prayer, beautiful worship music, and a foot washing ceremony. I haven’t seen a foot washing ceremony happen in a couple years. It is one of the most humbling, precious unity ceremonies in my opinion. For those that may not know about this unity, it is a representation of how Jesus got down on the ground to wash servants’ feet when he was here walking the Earth. In that time, if people had shoes on, they were often open sandals. The ground they walked on was most likely very dry and dusty. Their feet would become dirty quickly, and when you entered a house or building, there were servants at the door to wash your feet. When it was Jesus’s turn, however, he did not sit down to have his feet washed. Instead, he got on his knees and washed the servants’ feet. That one move has such powerful symbolism, but one of my favorites is the humbleness of putting your needs, your desires, your wants aside to love your spouse. You vow to this with your words, and when you show it through the act of foot washing, you vow to it with an action as well.

I’m so thankful Maddie and Jordan invited me to document their religious wedding at Marblegate Farm. Maddie is one of the most precious people I have ever met, and it’s an honor to see her and Jordan serving the Lord throughout their wedding day. I am just so thrilled to be sharing some of my favorites from their day with you guys. Hope you love them as much as I do!
