4 Month Sunrise Session

The Zartmans are one of those families I have connected with on SUCH a personal level over the years. I started by shooting their engagement session…their wedding…their first born’s whole first year…and now their second born’s year. We planned on maternity, newborn, 6, and 12 month sessions for little Andrew, however, we squeezed in a little 4 month session bright and early one morning before work to remember his tininess. Our purpose of seeing each other that morning may have been to document baby Andrew’s 4 month photos, but we got something else out of our time together that morning, too. Really great mama conversations. When you’re in the trenches or standing in a forest of giant evergreens blocking any view you may have other than the next step right in front of you, it can be SO helpful to have someone else confirm what you’re feeling is real, and you’re not alone. Shannan and I had our last two babies around the same time. We’ve gone through breastfeeding pains together. We’ve gone through sleepless nights together. We’ve gone through going back to work together. We’ve gone through transitioning toddlers to big brothers together. We’ve gone through feelings of frustration together, but also overwhelming gratitude that seems to appear at the same time but is also totally unreconcilable. To hear one another talk about the same struggles and the same joys and the same hardships and the same abundant thankfulness is just so good for our hearts.

I am so incredibly thankful for this family and the way they support Amanda May Photos the business and Amanda May Photos the mom/wife/sister in Christ.
