World’s Fair Site & Gay Street Anniversary Session || Amy & Fun

Celebrating One Year of Marriage with Wedding Attire, Downtown Knoxville, and a Love That Only Grows Stronger

Exactly one year after saying “I do,” Amy and Fun stepped back into their wedding attire. Then, we headed to Downtown Knoxville to celebrate their first anniversary. Their session at World’s Fair Site felt like the perfect continuation of a wedding day I still remember so clearly.

If you were at Amy and Fun’s wedding, you probably remember Fun’s signature look: the top hat and cane. I distinctly remember wondering if anyone could actually pull off that combination. Even Amy admitted she was a little skeptical at first. But somehow, Fun made it completely his own. It fit his personality perfectly and became such a memorable part of their wedding day. So when Amy slipped back into her wedding dress and veil for their anniversary session, there was only one option for Fun. He had to bring back the hat and cane, too.

We spent the evening exploring downtown Knoxville, wandering through the World’s Fair Site and along Gay Street while catching up on everything that has happened during their first year of marriage. It has been a full year for these two, filled with plenty of adventures, changes, and unexpected twists. This session gave them the opportunity to slow down for a moment and simply enjoy celebrating each other.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was watching the way Fun looked at Amy. Throughout the session, he kept requesting photos of just her because he genuinely cannot get enough of his wife. While Amy would be the first to tell you that being the sole focus of the camera isn’t her favorite thing, she happily stepped in front of the lens because she knew how much it meant to Fun. That kind of love, choosing something for your spouse simply because it brings them joy, is such a beautiful thing to witness.

Their anniversary celebration was made even sweeter because they spent a few nights in the very same Airbnb where Fun got ready on their wedding day. It was such a thoughtful way to revisit memories while creating new ones together.

As we talked about their anniversary plans, I found myself getting excited for my own anniversary with Dustin later this month. There is something special about seeing a couple intentionally celebrate their marriage and reflect on the year they’ve shared together.

I will never forget Amy and Fun’s wedding day, especially their incredible first dance. But what stands out even more than any single moment is the way they love one another. Their relationship isn’t flashy or performative. It’s genuine, steady, and deeply rooted in choosing each other every day. One year in, that love is just as evident as it was on their wedding day, and it was such an honor to document this milestone for them.
