This Press Room summer wedding was the perfect way to kick off a busy wedding weekend. Paige and Brett celebrated on Friday, and while I had another wedding the very next day, their celebration was such a joyful start to the weekend. From beautiful details to stunning portraits, their day was filled with thoughtful touches that reflected their vision so well.
One of the biggest blessings of the day was the weather. While East Tennessee summers can often bring bright sunshine and intense heat, Paige and Brett were gifted with a mostly overcast day. I love a beautiful sunset at The Press Room, but when the sun is shining directly during portrait time, it can sometimes limit where we can photograph throughout the property. The cloud cover gave us the freedom to use so many different areas around the venue without worrying about harsh sunlight or constantly chasing shade.
An added bonus that we didn’t have to make the walk over to the church next door for portraits. That may not sound like a huge deal, but on a warm summer day, it saved everyone a lot of energy and time. The guys especially seemed grateful that they could stay close to the venue and duck inside for air conditioning while waiting between photos. It allowed the day to flow smoothly and kept everyone comfortable.
When I think back on Paige and Brett’s wedding, the portraits immediately come to mind. Their editorial-style images were some of my favorites from the entire day. Both Paige and Brett have such natural elegance in front of the camera. Their posture, expressions, and confidence created images that feel straight out of a magazine. Every pose felt effortless, and they absolutely brought their vision to life.
The details throughout the reception were equally beautiful. One element I have to mention was the oversized bow featured on the front of the cake table. A few weeks before the wedding, Paige’s mom emailed me about the idea, and I was excited to see how it would come together. It ended up being even more beautiful than I imagined and became one of my favorite design elements of the day. It was classic, elegant, and the perfect focal point for the reception space.
Of course, the cake itself was equally stunning. All Mixed Up Cakes created a masterpiece that looked almost too beautiful to cut into. Combined with the bow display and the surrounding décor, it created a picture-perfect setup that guests couldn’t stop admiring.
Paige and Brett have been such a joy to work with throughout this entire process. Watching all of their ideas come together and seeing their vision fully realized was incredibly rewarding. I’m so thankful they trusted me to document their wedding day, and I can’t wait for them to relive these memories through their photographs for years to come.
