A Winter Mountain Engagement at Cosby Campground and the Foothills Parkway

The thing I love about winter shoots, whether it be mountain engagement sessions or wintry weddings, is that you get to see the sun a little longer than you normally would because of how bare the trees are. Any other time of year, the trees are so thick that once it dips behind the tree line, it’s gone. But in the winter, those sparse branches come in handy, and it allows the sun to peep through lasting all the way until the horizon. Therefore, we are able to start a little later, closer to the actual sunset than we normally would. For Maddie and Jordan’s winter mountain engagement session, we ended on the Foothills Parkway overlooking a gorgeous mountain view that was backlit off to the right by a gorgeous golden sunset. EEK it is so so so pretty. I especially love the black and whites up there!
