Castleton Christmas Wedding || Kara & Zack

A Castleton Christmas Wedding for the Books

When Kara described what she wanted her wedding day to look like, she literally used the phrase, “I want it to look like Christmas exploded everywhere.” When I walked into the Carriage House for this Castleton Christmas wedding, it looked exactly like Christmas exploded but in the most tasteful way. Having a Christmas wedding could easily turn into a cheesefest, but Kara and Zack worked with the Castleton team to make it absolutely stunning.

This was my very last big Saturday wedding of the 2022 season. I always feel like my first wedding and last wedding are especially good. I can’t quite figure out why, but thankfully, I always start and end the year on a great note. This wedding was no different. The day unfolded so easily and smoothly. Right down to the weather, which teetered between 70% and 20% rain the whole week leading up to it. Melissa, Kara’s mom, told me that every time she talked to someone, she would ask them to pray for the weather. The Lord surely answered this prayer with a gracious yes after a steady 5 days of rain.

One of the things I loved most about Kara and Zack’s Castleton Christmas wedding was Kara’s vows. Holy moly. Kara and Zack have been together for 8 years. They act more like an old married couple than anything else. They aren’t super mushy gushy in front of people so when Kara opened her heart in her vows not only in front of Zack, but in front of all the guests, it was so vulnerable. The words poured out of her so easily and effortlessly because they were so deeply true. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd, and I’m so thankful for her honesty even among a hundred other people.

Zack’s brother, Nick, said it best in his speech, “I don’t have to wish these two a lifetime of happiness because, with their love, it’s guaranteed.”
