Winter Engagement at Melton Hill Park

At the beginning of last week, the weather was 50-60 degrees, sunny, and glorious. Then, we had three straight days of rain, and by Friday the weather was 20-30 degrees, cloudy, and drizzly. Rebecca and John booked with me just a couple weeks ago. Their wedding is in April so Rebecca knew they needed to get their winter engagement photos scheduled ASAP. The only day of the week they are available is Friday, and I only had one Friday left open in February. They snagged it up, and of course, it was this past Friday with 30 degree temperatures, no sun, and a little misty rain. But you know what? They killed it. Rebecca’s dresses were short and one was sleeveless, but she was a total champ and just endured the freezing temperatures to have these amazing photos. I typically start out my sessions chit-chatting for a few minutes. Getting to know the couple, asking them some questions, telling them a few things about being in front of my camera, etc. For Becca and John, however, we hit the ground running to spend the least amount of time in the cold. They put jackets on between locations, and I tried to do a lot of snuggly poses to help keep each other warm. All in all, I am super proud of them for not even looking cold in these photos. Like, how? My hands and face were numb, and I was in a ski jacket the whole entire time. Excited to share these, excited for their wedding day, and excited to be shooting again!
