Cloudy Maryville College Bridal Session

Before shooting Haven’s Maryville College bridal session, I hadn’t been to Maryville College in forever. The last time I had shot there was several years ago, and I remember feeling like there just wasn’t much around. It is a beautiful campus, but I remember thinking all those years ago how it was just kind of bland. Because of this, I arrived half an hour early to Haven’s bridal session so I could scout it out again. So many photographers shoot there and love it. I had to have missed something. Well, here’s to a ton of growth between those visits because this time I loved it. There was so much, so many angles and compositions and shapes to work with. I was in heaven with Haven (haha see what I did there?) in her beautiful dress wandering the grounds of Maryville College, and it was fabulous. There is SO much to be said about experience. Of course, I took some education between those two visits, but having an “eye” to find interesting composition and using a location totally different than the last time you used it just takes practice and experience. It’s not really something you can teach or learn from someone else. It’s just going out and doing. Trial and error. I absolutely adore shooting on Maryville College’s campus and kind of regret not going there more over the last 5 years since that initial visit.
