Okay! You guys, I have the coolest story for you that I learned at Cari and Eric’s Volunteer Landing maternity session! Before Cari and Eric even got married, they talked about kids’ names. They both realized they really like the name Harrison. Once they got the positive pregnancy test, they downloaded an app that helps you pick names. It’s similar to a dating app in that a name pops on the screen and you swipe left or right if you like it or don’t like it. You are partnered together with your spouse, and when you both swipe a “like” on the same name, it tells you. For boys’ names, they quickly matched to the name Harrison. At the time, they didn’t know the gender of their sweet babe so they started on girl names. As hard as they tried, however, they didn’t match any of them. When they found out baby Pelehach was going to be a boy, they didn’t keep trying to match because they already knew his name would be Harrison.
During their engagement session, I asked if Harrison is a family name or if they just like it. They said there were no intentional ties, but a few weeks ago when Eric’s grandmother passed away, they traveled to Eric’s dad’s hometown for her funeral. When they got to his grandmother’s house, she lived on Harrison Street. What are the chances of that??? How precious that it’s a nod to her right after her passing. It is truly crazy how the Lord works out even the tiniest of details.
I’m so excited to share this Volunteer Landing maternity session with you. I think Volunteer Landing might be one of the more underrated locations in Knoxville. I love shooting there so much! If you are a Vols fan, it is perfect! With the orange and white flags flying, and Neyland Stadium and Thompson-Boling Arena in the background! Not to mention the light lays so pretty against the Henley Street Bridge!
