Vintage Car Engagement at Castleton Farms

Okay, so this is pretty cool…the vintage car itself, but also, the story behind it. This is the first time I’ve shot a vintage car engagement session, but it wasn’t just a prop for Lindsey and Devin. This car came from Devin’s grandmother. It didn’t run and was covered in dust and dirt in an old garage for YEARS before this vintage car engagement. Devin’s great grandfather ran an auto shop in the 50’s and this car was one of his most prized possessions. He was the only owner until he passed it down to his daughter, Devin’s grandmother. It is one of the things that reminds her most of her father, and it is sacred to her. She didn’t let anyone near it. She guarded it with her life. Until her grandson, who is named after her dad, got engaged. Not only did she have it cleaned up, but she also hired a tow company to tow this beautiful car all the way out to Castleton Farms. I am so completely honored that she left it in our hands for a whole hour. We also got to recreate an old picture of Devin’s great grandfather squatted beside the car back in the day with Devin squatted beside the car at Castleton, and I just know how much it’s going to warm her heart. One of the many beautiful reasons why I love my career so so much.

After the vintage car was hauled away, we did the rest of their pictures around the Castleton Farms property, and per the usual, it did not disappoint!

I’m the proud grandmother of Devin. As you said, Devin is Daddy’s namesake. My Dad owned and operated an “old fashion” gas station and wrecker service in Harriman until his death. He would be VERY proud of Devin. He loved his “crown”, as he called his car. Yes, very protective of his car. The pictures are great. (There was a previous owner for a little while, then Daddy’s.)
