Emporium Wedding

One of the things I love most about Laura Beth and Trevor is they know exactly what they want, and they go for it. I felt this way before their wedding day, but after hearing the toasts at the reception, I think this is a trait that goes back much further than just wedding planning. When they booked me for their wedding, they hired me on the spot as soon as they found out I was available on the ever so popular 10/10/2020. They live in North Carolina, and when they came in for their engagement photos, they knew they wanted coffee. As soon as I recommended K-Brew, they were so there for it in a million awesome ways. They love coffee so much that they incorporated it into their cocktail hour. After I delivered their engagement photos, they pointed out the images they loved and asked for more like that! They weren’t crazy about detail photos of the bride and groom details, and she just asked me if they could put that time elsewhere. They loved the artsy photos of straight faces so we did lots of those, but also wove in some killer smiling and laughing ones. When we approached the idea of possibly moving spots for portraits, I voiced my slight concern of moving such a big group (23 people in the bridal party and another 15 or so in the family) and how it always puts a major stressor on the timeline. Especially with all the construction going on downtown right now, getting anywhere quickly is not an option. But Laura Beth said, “Oh, it won’t be a problem. I’ll tell everyone the right time to get there so they arrive there when we need them to, and I promise, it won’t be a problem.” And she was right. Every single person showed up not only on time but EARLY! There was not one missing, and I was over here stunned picking my jaw back up off the ground because of it. Finally, the last example, when they decided they were going to make adjustments for COVID, they asked me some questions. They talked to one another, did their research, and once they decided they were going to limit it to just 50 people, they did it. And they did it very well.

I truly truly loved shooting this wedding! It was so beautiful and fun. Laura Beth and Trevor did SUCH a good job at keeping it true to them and including some of their favorite things. I can’t tell you how thankful I am they chose me to be their photographer. But also, how thankful I am they put me, my assistant, and the videographer in their seating chart, and we had our very own place settings. Seriously. It was amazing and so so thoughtful. It sounds like such a simple thing, but literally, it takes me at least 10 minutes to hunt down a plate and silverware that I can use when it’s time for dinner!

Anywho, I hope you enjoy this sweet couple and their incredible family and friends because I know I sure did!
