The Carnegie Wedding || Katie & David

A Snazzy Wedding at The Carnegie

Katie and David are literally the life of the party. They embody every single meaning of that phrase, and it amazes me. As someone who definitely tends to be more on the introverted side, watching them do their thing is admirable. Together, they are such a power couple. Their little girl, Romee, is the EXACT same way, and she’s not even 2 yet. Knowing this about them means I wasn’t surprised at all when their reception at The Carnegie was bumpin’. It was more like being at a fancy night club than at a wedding reception. I don’t think Katie and David left the dance floor for more than 3 minutes, and that was either to grab another drink or hit the restroom. They danced all night long, which means their guests kept dancing all night long. If you want your people to dance, you dance. They will follow you wherever you go!

A couple things I really loved about Katie and David’s day. 1) Katie was so go with the flow. Don’t get me wrong, the girl knew what she wanted, but she planned for those things to happen in advance. When the day finally arrived, she didn’t let anything stand in the way of her having the most amazing day ever. For example, she really wanted Romee (their almost 2 year old daughter) in the getting ready suite with all the girls. When Romee fell asleep right in the middle of all the getting ready things, however, Katie just let her sleep knowing it was better for her in the long run. Going with the flow on your wedding day will make it so much less stressful! 2) Everything was at The Carnegie Hotel. This was SO convenient on so many levels. First, most of her guests had rooms at the hotel. They didn’t have to think about drinking and driving or finding another ride home because they literally just went upstairs to their rooms. Second, when it came time for the wedding party to clean up their things in the getting ready suite, they just took it to their rooms instead of having to get it to a car. Third, I also had a room at The Carnegie and just left all the things I didn’t need for the whole day in there and would pop up and grab what I needed when I needed it, which was so easy. Fourth, everything being in one spot is always easy and ideal and the most efficient use of our time! 3) I LOVE the unique reception exit Katie and David did. Since they were already in The Carnegie, they exited straight into the elevator and went upstairs to their room! They had these really awesome little glow stick things you have to check out in their exit pictures below. On your way there, you are going to see sooooo many dance pictures, and this is just a tiny fraction of what is actually in their entire gallery!

Enjoy this wedding at The Carnegie, my friends. It was a blast to photograph.
