A Hunter Valley Sunset Engagement Session

I am photographing Annabeth and Blake’s October microwedding in the mountains of North Carolina. So, we met up for a Hunter Valley Farm sunset engagement session before their big day! When I’m hired for a smaller affair like this, I allow my clients to build their own package. I work with them to decide how many hours they need, but they ultimately choose the hours they want me present for. The whole package is built to be JUST what they need. Most couples do not add on engagement photos in an effort to keep the cost lower. But here’s the deal, guys. I can tell a difference on elopement days when we have done engagement photos prior versus when we haven’t. It’s more obvious at an elopement/microwedding because of how simple those days are. There are no getting ready photos with a large bridal party or a big cocktail hour. Elopements are shorter and more straight to the point. We get one chance to get your portraits, and it’s usually not a super long amount of time or during golden hour.

When couples have done an engagement session with me, however, the time spent getting their portraits on their wedding day is faster and more efficient. We get twice the amount we would have if they did not do an engagement session. So, you can see why I am all for my couples getting engagement sessions. So so so thankful to Annabeth and Blake for adding on engagement photos and meeting me at Hunter Valley for the most perfect sunset engagement session.
