A Spring engagement at Knoxville Botanical always feels like stepping into a fresh start. Tara and Andrew’s session could not have been more fitting for the season they’re in, both in life and in love. With everything just beginning to bloom at Knoxville Botanical Garden, their session felt soft, joyful, and full of anticipation for what’s ahead.
As we wandered through the gardens, chasing that early spring light and those first hints of green, I got to know Andrew better (I already know and love Tara). I also got to know them as a couple. And truly, they are so perfectly matched. The way they interact is effortless, the kind of connection that feels both calm and exciting all at once.
Their story honestly sounds like something straight out of a movie.
Tara and Andrew met at work, both in the medical field at a hospital. Tara was actually the nurse assigned to Andrew’s surgery, which already feels like the beginning of a plot. But it gets better. In the early days of their relationship, before they told anyone, people started to notice a pattern. Tara just so happened to be the nurse for a lot of Andrew’s procedures. Of course, they played it off like it was nothing. Keeping things under wraps while secretly being so excited every time they got to see each other.
Eventually, as things grew more serious, Andrew finished his residency and moved jobs. Naturally, my first reaction was, “Okay wait, this is giving Grey’s Anatomy,” which they both laughed at. But honestly, their meet-cute has that same once-in-a-lifetime kind of magic.
One of my favorite parts of this Spring engagement at Knoxville Botanical session was hearing them talk about their love for travel. As we moved from one corner of the gardens to the next, they shared stories of places they’ve explored and the adventures still on their list. The way they light up talking about traveling together is the same way they light up when they look at each other, and it’s the kind of joy that’s contagious. I found myself mentally planning my next trip, even while I’m currently on one as you’re reading this.
I already know their wedding at RT Lodge is going to be amazing. That venues fits them both perfectly as their intentionality behind everything is so beautiful.
