If you’ve never experienced a Sequoyah Hills winter engagement, let Hannah Grace and Wesley be your introduction.
Sequoyah Hills in the winter has a quiet kind of magic about it. The trees are bare, the light filters softly through the branches, and everything feels calm and intimate, which was absolutely perfect for these two.
I first met Hannah Grace through my kids’ elementary school. If you know anything about that sweet little school, you know it’s tiny with only about four classes per grade level. Even if your child has never stepped foot in a teacher’s classroom, you still somehow know most of the staff. It’s one of those rare places where community truly feels like community.
So, when Hannah Grace reached out about potentially photographing their wedding, I was genuinely thrilled. There’s something extra special about being considered by someone who is already in your everyday world.
One afternoon after school, while the kids ran wild on the playground, Hannah Grace and I laced up our sneakers and walked laps around the track. What started as a casual conversation quickly turned into full-on wedding planning mode. Forty-five minutes and roughly 2.5 miles later, we had mapped out their timeline, finalized coverage hours, and thoughtfully talked through their family shot list. It was productive, efficient, and honestly, so much fun.
There are seasons in life where circles overlap. My friend circle and client circle do that often. But this is only the second time my school circle has crossed into my client world. And I have a feeling it will also be crossing over into my friend circle because as you get to know Hannah Grace, you just can’t help but love her.
And Wesley balances her so effortlessly. He’s steady, kind, and completely smitten. Watching the way he looked at her during their Sequoyah Hills winter engagement session made photographing them feel easy. Natural. Joyful.
The winter air was crisp, the sun was warm, and there was a natural glow in every sense of the word. The neutral tones of the season allowed their connection to take center stage. No distractions. Just laughter, soft forehead touches, and sweet kisses.
Hannah Grace and Wesley are a perfect match, and having them in front of my camera was such a joy. If their engagement session is any indication of what their wedding day will be like, it’s going to be filled with so much happiness!
