There is something that happened at this Press Room wedding that as soon as it did, I immediately decided this is what would hit the blog for this wedding because more couples should TOTALLY do this.
Okay. If having photos of every guest is really important to you at your reception, this is hands down the best way to do it. It’s called a Dinner Dash, and it’s where the DJ plays one song while the couple races from table to table for a picture before the song is over. The best part is you aren’t caught talking to one table for 20 minutes before it’s time for the next formality. Also, it ensures you get a photo of every guest at your wedding. I’m not sure where this idea originated. If you’re having a Press Room wedding though, it is something they help organize and encourage couples to do. Here are some more deets on this idea if you’d like to create it at your wedding.
The DJ comes over the mic and explains what is about to happen. Your coordinator will go before you and prep the table coming next. Then, I follow you from table to table. We have everyone get up, stand to the side of the table with the bride and groom, look at the camera and smile. While they sit back down, the couple moves to the next group that was prepped by your coordinator and is already standing off in a grouping waiting on you. At Cara and Matt’s Press Room wedding, the groups got creative, and one of them held Matt in the air while one group had the bride and groom sit on their laps. It got really fun!
I never guarantee I’ll get a photo of everyone at your reception. But that is important to some couples, and they try to get around to each table. Every time, however, they are interrupted before making it to the second half of the room.
