Newborn Family Session in Oak Ridge || Welcome Baby Micah

There is something especially meaningful about returning to a family’s home to document another chapter of their story. When Erica reached out about scheduling newborn photos for Davidson baby number two, I couldn’t have been more excited for them. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing so many milestones for this family. From engagement photos to their wedding day, welcoming Cooper, and now celebrating the arrival of sweet baby Micah. Watching families grow is one of the greatest gifts of this job.

This newborn family session took place in the comfort of their Oak Ridge home, and we photographed everything right inside Micah’s adorable nursery. It was the perfect space for cozy, meaningful images that felt true to this season of life. One of my favorite parts of the session was seeing Cooper again. I photographed her newborn photos just a couple of years ago, and now she’s fully embracing her role as big sister. Cooper has always been tiny, but seeing her snuggle up beside Micah made her seem so grown up. She was proud, affectionate, and completely smitten with her little brother.

And speaking of Micah, he was an absolute dream. He slept beautifully, settled easily, and gave us the sweetest expressions throughout the session. His calm demeanor made it easy to capture so many precious moments between him and his family.

They filled the nursery with thoughtful details, including a few special heirlooms that made these images even more meaningful. You’ll notice a Tennessee bear in a couple photos that Micah is laying on. The bear has “Yaya” embroidered on its foot and is passed down through Erica’s family. Those kinds of sentimental pieces always make my heart happy because they tell a story that extends far beyond a single photograph.

Another favorite detail was the adorable football rattle that Micah is holding in a few images. Not only is it incredibly cute, but we also used it during Cooper’s newborn session. Seeing that same little rattle make an appearance again felt like such a sweet full-circle moment.

I’m so grateful the Davidsons invited me back into their lives to document another milestone. It has been such an honor to watch their family grow over the years, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for sweet Cooper, Micah, Eric, and Erica.
