Home Newborn with Archie
I got to go to the Watson household to photograph Archie’s in home newborn session. It was an absolute honor to be welcomed into their home during such an uncertain time. People ask me all the time how I’m handling COVID. Well, I will say this. We are cautious here in my house, but I am cautious on the job, too. I wear my mask at all of my weddings when social distancing can’t be maintained because ultimately, I am staying safe for all the littles I get to work with like Archie. All the grandparents I get to help up the stairs for family photos. All the mamas out there about to have their first baby. It’s more than just my family that I’m protecting. So when Archie’s parents asked me to wear a mask, you betchya I did so with honor. Never be afraid to ask someone to wear a mask around you. There’s no right way to handle this pandemic. You do what you’re comfortable with and what puts your mind at ease.
One thing Anice and Jonathan did that was different than most was wait to find out Archie’s gender. They wanted it to be a surprise so they did his nursery in all gender neutral things. It was absolutely ADORABLE, and I LOVED how bright it was. It was the perfect spot to take all of newborn photos! This isn’t super common anymore with the first baby. It’s not even that common with the second or third, but definitely not with the first. And I’m going to be completely honest and say, there’s NO way I could do it. As much as I love surprises, I don’t like anticipating surprises haha. I like surprise surprises 😂. But they did it, and they did it well, you guys. Go check out this little man and all of his adorableness. He did SO good at his home newborn session!
