Downtown Urban Engagement Session

You’ve heard me say this before, but I’m going to say it again. When I shoot in the same spot a lot (places like Knoxville Botanical Gardens, UT Gardens, Castleton Farms, The Press Room, and definitely Downtown Knoxville) my goal is to deliver a unique product to each of my clients. That doesn’t mean there’s no overlap. It would be unwise to not use a really great spot over and over again once I found it, but I don’t want every downtown urban engagement gallery to look the same when I deliver it. So as I’m sharing Christina and David’s downtown urban engagement session, I have to say that I’m super proud of it. It looks TOTALLY different than any of my other Downtown Knoxville shoots. I may have used the same spot three times, but that was it. Guys, that is hard to do. Especially when our downtown isn’t exactly huge. Before their shoot, I got down there a little early and drove around. I didn’t go down any of the side streets I usually go down to force myself out of my comfort zone. It’s nice shooting in a location you’ve shot in before, but also, it’s SO easy to go to the same spots because you know they work. It’s safe. It’s easy. It doesn’t require any extra drive time. That’s just not what the AMP experience is about. You deserve to have your own spots. You deserve to have something unique to you and the relationship you have together. I know Christina and David like color. I could tell because they showed up wearing colors. One of the first things out of Christina’s mouth was how much she loved pink. So, I made it a point to shoot in some areas with color. We use a blue wall beside TVA and a blue elevator in World’s Fair Site. I bring in some hot pink blooms from some crepe myrtles a couple times, and I just absolutely adore how these turned out. Don’t just take my word for it! Go scroll through for yourself!
