Foothills Parkway Engagement
I met Bonnie through Houston and Christina whose wedding I photographed last year. Bonnie is Houston’s sister, and I had a blast getting to know her on their wedding day. Not only was she a bridesmaid, but she and Sadler came to their preview party at my house. It’s fun going through someone’s wedding photos with them, hearing stories, and reminiscing with them. It’s a whole other level of supportive, however, when they come to a preview party with you. For Sadler to come, too, before he was even officially a part of the family was such a tell of his character. After I saw Bonnie and Sadler’s engagement on Instagram, I was thrilled when she reached out to me first for my 2022 October availability.
Bonnie knew exactly what she wanted for their engagement photos. She said the three backdrops she always envisioned as options for her wedding were the beach, the mountains, or a fancy estate, which is similar to what Houston and Christina did. Well, Sadler proposed at the beach, and she booked Castleton Farms as her wedding venue. So, the only thing left was capturing the mountains. As crazy as it sounds, there aren’t a lot of great public places to get mountain views with decent lighting without an enormous logistical nightmare. Foothills Parkway is one of them, however, and she was immediately sold on it as soon as I showed her. I was so thankful we got an overcast day. When the sun is harsh, this spot is a lot more difficult to work with, but they have some epic views without being blinded by the sun.
I’m so excited for Bonnie and Sadler and so so so thrilled to come along this journey with them!
