Jennifer & Zach || Fall Wedding at The Trillium

If there is one thing I will never get tired of, it’s photographing weddings at The Trillium with those gorgeous Smoky Mountain views. Add in the most perfect fall weather, a couple I absolutely adore, and a sunset that turned the mountains PINK, and you’ve got yourself one unforgettable wedding day! Jennifer and Zach’s Fall wedding at The Trillium was one for the books, and I am SO excited to finally share it with you!

From the Proposal to the Wedding Day!

Jennifer and Zach are actually the third couple in their friend group who have trusted me to photograph their wedding. Third!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how much that means to me. Getting to photograph multiple weddings within the same group of friends is such a fun experience because every wedding feels a little like a reunion. I get to see familiar faces, catch up with past couples, and celebrate another beautiful marriage with people I’ve come to know over the years.

But Jennifer and Zach’s story with me is a little different because I actually got to photograph Zach’s proposal!

And let me tell you, that proposal still makes me laugh!

As we were getting ready on their wedding morning, we started rehashing how the whole thing unfolded, and I couldn’t help but crack up all over again. There was a point during that proposal when I was absolutely convinced I was about to completely botch photographing the entire thing. Ha! But somehow, someway, it all worked out perfectly. And looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing!

We followed up their proposal with a short engagement session, and I loved seeing those photos displayed throughout their wedding reception. Getting to see images from the very beginning of their engagement incorporated into the day they officially became husband and wife was such a sweet full-circle moment. If you want all the hilarious details of how that proposal unfolded, you’ll have to read their proposal blog post. Trust me, it’s worth it!

The Most Perfect Fall Wedding at The Trillium

Can we talk about the weather for a second?!

Because y’all. It. Was. Perfect.

When you’re planning a mountain wedding in East Tennessee, you really never know what Mother Nature is going to throw your way. Wind, clouds, rain, unpredictable temperatures. We’ve seen it all. But Jennifer and Zach somehow managed to get the absolute dreamiest conditions for their fall wedding at The Trillium.

No wind. Perfect temperatures. Gorgeous sunlight. Every single thing you could possibly ask for!

And then came sunset.

One thing I always encourage my couples to do is trust me when it comes to their sunset portraits. The light changes so quickly in the mountains, and sometimes, waiting a few extra minutes can make all the difference.

Jennifer and Zach trusted me completely, and oh my goodness, did it pay off!

The mountains behind them turned the most beautiful shade of pink. Not just a little pink. I’m talking the kind of pink that makes you stop in your tracks and wonder if what you’re seeing is even real. The light was soft, the mountains were glowing, and Jennifer and Zach looked absolutely incredible.

I genuinely do not think I will ever get over those sunset portraits. Ever.

Another thing Jennifer and Zach absolutely nailed was choosing their wedding vendors. They put together such a fantastic team of professionals, and it showed in every part of their celebration.

Their day flowed beautifully from beginning to end, without a hitch. Everyone worked together so well, the timeline stayed on track, and Jennifer and Zach were able to soak up their wedding day without worrying about all the little details happening behind the scenes.

That is exactly what I want for every single one of my couples!

Between the incredible vendor team, the perfect weather, the sweetest couple, and those unbelievable mountain views, this wedding truly had it all.

Now, I have to explain why it’s taken me a little longer than usual to get this beautiful wedding on the blog!

After photographing Jennifer and Zach’s wedding, I was right back at The Trillium the very next day for an open house. And then, the following morning, I was up and heading out at four in the morning for a trip to Colorado!

Whew. Talk about a whirlwind of a few days!

So yes, these photos are hitting the blog a little later than I originally planned, but I promise they are worth the wait. Especially those sunset photos. Have I mentioned the sunset photos?! Ha!

Jennifer and Zach, thank you for trusting me through every chapter of this season. From the hilariously memorable proposal to your engagement session and finally your beautiful wedding day, it has been such a privilege to be part of your story. I am so thankful your friend group keeps bringing me back for these incredible celebrations, and I couldn’t be happier for the two of you!

Now, enough talking. Scroll on down and take a look at one of the most beautiful fall sunsets I’ve ever photographed.
