A Cinderella wedding is what Katie wanted, and that’s exactly what she, her mom, and the Castleton Farms team brought to life on June 19th, 2021. Katie immediately told me about her love for Disney when she booked me as her wedding photographer, but I don’t think I fully grasped it until I followed her stories on a Disney trip she took with her family shortly after. Disney fanatics is an understatement for the McCann crew. Instead of going all Mickey ears and red and black, however, they chose Cinderella as the inspiration for every decision, and it was the classiest Disney wedding I’ve ever seen.
That crystal blue color for the bridesmaids’ dresses, a Cinderella inspired wedding dress literally designed in a Disney Princess line, a horse-drawn carriage decorated in flowers, a cascading bouquet, a vintage copy of Cinderella used as a guest sign-in book, and a venue that has a Magic Kingdom feel.
My most favorite part about this Cinderella wedding was a hard one to choose. It’s usually some really emotional moment. Things like the first look with dad or the first look with the groom. Getting dressed with mom or the special dances and toasts at the reception. For this wedding, however, I think I finally decided it was the flower girls. Katie and Lucas had SIX flower girls and FOUR junior bridesmaids. That’s a total of TEN little girls. Normally, I would have major anxiety (I’m sure all the photographers reading this are already starting to sweat through their shirts), but these little girls were SO well-behaved. I was honestly amazed. During the processional, they played “Bippity Boppity Boo” from Cinderella, and all these little flower girls skipped down the longest aisle possible. They skipped right to the beat of the music while their little petals fell out of their baskets and their little curls bounced up and down. It was the CUTEST thing on the whole entire planet. Every single guest beamed with joy as they watched these little girls giggle as they bounced down the aisle living their best lives.
The day after Katie and Lucas’s wedding, I left for the beach. I got home from the wedding at midnight then flew to Florida at 10 am. I left my hard drive with Katie and Lucas’s wedding on it back in Knoxville so my assistant could cull their wedding while I was gone. I’ve been so excited to get these images out to you guys because oh my gosh, they’re just so different and so pretty, and I knew it would be a source of inspiration and joy. So, here we go. The blog is finally ready with some of my favorites, and I’m thrilled you’re here!
