An In-Home Chattanooga Newborn Session for Baby Nolan
As I prepare my photography calendar for 2027, I’m thinking about how my business fits into this season of motherhood. All three of my children play multiple sports. With less time available to be away from my family in the evenings, I’m excited to begin offering more newborn sessions. Because these sessions take place during the school day, they allow me to continue documenting meaningful family milestones while still being present for my own children.
For this sweet Chattanooga newborn session, I left as soon as I dropped my last child off at school. Then, I returned just in time for afternoon pickup. In between, I drove to Chattanooga, Tennessee, to photograph baby Nolan with his parents in his adorable nursery.
Talya is a labor and delivery nurse so babies are truly part of her world around the clock. Watching her step into motherhood felt completely natural. She was calm, confident, and so comfortable caring for Nolan. Austin seemed equally at ease as a new father. It’s easy to see these two are meant for parenthood.
Of course, Nolan surprised everyone by arriving three weeks early after Talya’s water broke. Losing three weeks of preparation time can completely change your plans. Especially when you are expecting your first baby. There are nursery details to finish, car seats to install, furniture to assemble, and baby showers to attend. Thankfully, Talya and Austin were already ahead of the curve. They painted the nursery, assembled the furniture, cempleted their baby showers, and had just installed the car seat.
There were still a few finishing touches to add to Nolan’s nursery. In fact, Austin was hanging pictures on the walls while I prepared Nolan for his first big photo shoot! It was such a sweet, real-life detail from those early newborn days. A reminder that babies rarely wait for everything to be perfectly finished before making their entrance.
Most importantly, Nolan arrived healthy and absolutely perfect. He did wonderfully throughout his newborn session, and it was such a joy to document this beautiful new chapter for Talya and Austin.
An in-home Chattanooga newborn session allows families to stay comfortable, move at their own pace, and preserve the meaningful details of the space where their baby’s earliest memories are being made. Nolan’s session was a beautiful example of why I love photographing newborns at home, and why I’m looking forward to welcoming even more tiny babies in 2027.
