This is an exciting season! You are currently planning one of the best days of your entire life. With every detail and emotion captured, I will help you share your love story for generations to come.
I have to share three things from Kailey and Michael’s Castleton Farms summer wedding. One may make you laugh, while the other two will pull on your heart strings. So, let’s just dive right in. We’ll start with the funny one first.
After walking down the aisle, most groomsmen fist bump or hug the groom. Michael’s groomsmen, however, pulled a fast one and handed him a random item to hold. Having SEVEN groomsmen hand you something random right before your bride walks down the aisle may be one of the funniest pranks you can pull on a wedding day without taking it too far. The first guy handed Michael a ping pong ball with something written on it. Michael then assumed he would just get a bunch of ping pong balls from everyone else. But the second guy slapped a summer sausage right in his hand. Thankfully, still packaged in it’s plastic wrap. Then he got a golf ball, a baseball, another ping pong ball, and a couple kid squishies. He quickly shoved them all in his back pockets as each guy handed him one. SO thankful he thought to use his back pockets instead of his front pockets. No one likes bulging pants pockets in all their ceremony photos 😉 While some may say it’s so inappropriate to make a joke of a really serious moment, I have to let you guys know that Michael did not let it distract him from the attention this moment deserved. He was totally swept up, which you can tell by his sweet reaction.
This is the PERFECT wedding to show you an example of how a first look does not ruin the groom’s reaction at the ceremony. For their first look, Michael’s jaw literally hit the floor. He covered his face with his hands and bent over in disbelief of how stunning Kailey looked. It was literally the most precious reaction ever. He shed some tears, hugged her, and laughed as he asked if he could kiss her. He walked around her admiring her from all angles, and I don’t think he could have done anything different to make that moment more perfect for Kailey. As emotional and raw and sweet as that moment was, the ceremony STILL had a separate moment that was just as good. As Kailey began her journey down the aisle on her dad’s arm, Michael was fighting back tears. With misty eyes, he smiled, looked at his dad as he wiped the tears from his cheeks, and looked back at his bride with pure bliss. It was a separate reaction full of just as much emotion. I have to say, it may go down as one of my all time favorite #AMPgroom reactions!
Lastly, this is something I have never seen before and absolutely loved. In a family of all girls, Kailey’s dad has now shared three father/daughter dances. So, at Kailey’s wedding, after both parent dances, she dedicated a song to her mom to share with her three sons-in-law. It was so special. One by one, each took a turn dancing with her on the dance floor during a sweet song. I think this is really sweet because while mom gets to zip her daughter into her dress, that’s really her only stage moment. While I know it’s not about mom, they often do so much behind the scenes prepping and planning. This is such a sweet way to show them appreciation! Love this idea, Kailey!
This may have been one scorching Castleton Farms summer wedding, but it was also one gorgeous Castleton Farms summer wedding!
