Bethany and Nick’s wedding day was another unique spin on a COVID wedding. I think you are about to be very impressed with them as I start explaining just how this day went. They were supposed to get married in a synagogue off Kingston Pike. It was going to be a small wedding, and they planned to have a virtual reception afterward to celebrate with all of their out of town guests. As the date approached, however, COVID rules weren’t giving much so they decided to do an airbnb elopement in Rockford, TN. It’s off John Sevier Highway and led back to the most adorable bungalow tucked back in the rolling hills of East Tennessee. The house itself looked like it belonged at the beach, but it had the perfect space for such an event. They got married on the porch, had their family photos in the shade of one of the gorgeous trees, did their big mask picture on the front porch steps, and had their virtual reception in the living room as catering set up all the food in the kitchen. You’ve heard of the zoom ceremonies. Plenty of couples have done them, but have you heard of the virtual receptions? I’m imagining what ran through your mind when reading that phrase. I think it’s probably exactly what you’re picturing plus a live band. That’s right. They had a live band on their zoom call so all of their guests could dance with them, witness their father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and husband/wife first dance. They hired a videographer to come to their airbnb elopement and just run zoom the whole time. It was SO stinking cute seeing these friends and family dancing in their kitchen to the same music they would dance to if everyone was gathered in one room. To say I was thoroughly impressed is an understatement. It was cool. Feel free to steal that idea of you are thinking you’d rather slim your guest list down to the bare minimum and host everyone else in one giant zoom call!

Big thank you to Bethany and Nick for having me as part of your wedding day! It was an absolute pleasure working with you guys!
